For the dough:

  • 125 g margarine or butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2-3 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon, not slaked soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 3.5-4 cups flour

  • 0.5 kg sour cream 15-20%
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

Honey Cake with Sour Cream Instructions

  1. Melt margarine in a water bath.
  2. Add sugar and honey.
  3. Heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth.
  4. Add baking soda and stir until the mass increases and whitens. Remove from the water bath and cool.
  5. Then add eggs and mix well.
  6. Add flour and knead the dough.
  7. Divide into 8-10 pieces. Roll out very thin cakes directly on the baking sheet. Make several punctures with a fork and bake one at a time for 2-3 minutes. in a preheated oven until brownish.
  8. While hot, trim the edges to any suitable shape. Spread out on a towel until it cools down (do not fold one by one while hot, they may stick).
  9. Cream: beat the cold sour cream with a mixer.
  10. Coat the cakes (do not spare the cream), pressing down on top.
  11. Decorate the top of the honey cake with crushed crumbs from the remnants of the cakes. You can use nuts and chocolate.
