Ingredients
Toast bread – 5 slices (120 g)
Sausages – 5 pcs. (220 g)
Milk – 100 ml
Egg – 1 pc.
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper – to taste
Vegetable oil (for frying) – 2 tbsp
For the filling (optional):
Lettuce leaves – 2-3 pcs.
Directions
Roll the pieces of toast bread thinly with a rolling pin.
Place a sausage in the base of each piece of bread and roll the bread tightly. The edges of the sausages can be trimmed as needed to fit the slices of bread.
Combine milk and egg in a separate container. Add salt and ground black pepper. Whisk the mixture with a fork until smooth.
Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil over medium heat. Quickly dip the sausage bread rolls in the egg and milk mixture so that the bread is soaked on all sides, but does not have time to get very wet.
Place the prepared sausages in bread in a skillet with heated vegetable oil.
Fry over medium heat, about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
If desired, cut each hot sausage roll sandwich in half and place it on a plate garnished with lettuce.
