Hot Sandwiches with Onions and Eggs (in a Pan)

Sometimes you can afford not to count calories and have a snack that is not very healthy, but hearty and tasty sandwiches. This fried onion and egg sandwich recipe won’t even make you go to the store! In our family, such sandwiches are a frequent guest at the morning table.

Ingredients

  • Wheat bread – 4 slices
  • Onions – 2-3 pcs. (150 g)
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Refined sunflower oil – 30 ml
  • Salt – 0.25 teaspoon (to taste)
  • Parsley (optional, for decoration) – 1 sprig

Directions

  1. Prepare all required ingredients.
  2. Peel the onion and cut it into small cubes or thin quarters. Add salt. Mash the onion lightly with your hands and leave for 5 minutes. The onions will give off the juice and the sandwiches will be more flavorful.
  3. Beat the egg to the onion.
  4. Mix.
  5. Place the onion and egg on top of the bread slices.
  6. Heat a skillet with vegetable oil. Put the slices of bread in the hot butter, onion side down. Fry over low heat for 3 minutes. The onions should be lightly browned, but still crunch a little.
  7. If desired, turn over and brown the bread on the other side for 1 minute.
  8. Place the hot sandwiches on paper napkins onion side down to remove any excess oil.
  9. If desired, decorate the sandwiches with fresh herbs (finely chopped or with leaves). Serve hot onion and egg sandwiches for tea or coffee. Also, these hot sandwiches are very good with tomato juice.
