Ingredients

  • 2 small shallots
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 200 g peanuts, roasted
  • 4 tablespoon soy sauce, (Kecap Manis)
  • 1 teaspoon sambal oelek
  • 0.5 ½ lemon (s), the juice
  • 3 teaspoons palm sugar
  • 3 tablespoon oil, for frying
  • 200 ml coconut milk, unsweetened

Instructions

  1. Do not grind the peanuts too finely in the blender. Peel and finely chop shallots and garlic. Mix the prepared ingredients with Kecap Manis, Sambal Oelek, lemon juice and palm sugar to a paste.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan or saucepan and fry the peanut paste over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Deglaze with coconut milk. Turn the heat down and let the sauce simmer for another 2-3 minutes. Season to taste with a little soy sauce, salt and pepper. If the sauce becomes too firm, add a little water or coconut milk.
