Instructions

  1. Simply rinse and chop the pears, neither pitting nor removing the small pieces of fruit. Reduce according to the instructions on the sugar pack and pour into prepared glasses while still hot.
  2. The rock pear is admittedly difficult to pick, but it is all the more worth it because it makes an extremely tasty jam that tastes slightly like marzipan. This is because the small kernels contain bitter almond (hydrocyanic acid) - but to a small extent.
  3. I ate a lot of the tasty fruits and didn`t have any problems. In the meantime, the jam has become my favorite. Neither the small stones nor the fruit set bother me in the jam - both become soft.
  4. I also juiced the pears and made jelly from them - however, it is not as tasty as the jam, which only gets its special flavor through the kernels.
  5. So if you own edible rock pears, I can only recommend this jam.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
