Ingredients

  • 250 g flour (also tastes ood with a portion or pure whole rain, spelled or rye flour)
  • 125 ml milk, low-fat
  • 30 g butter
  • 50 g honey
  • 1 egg (s)
  • some vanilla
  • 0.25 teaspoon ¼ salt
  • 0.5 ½ cube yeast or
  • 1 pack dry yeast
  • some milk or egg for brushing
  • some granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix the yeast with the vanilla and salt and add the warmed milk. Add the honey and stir in the butter and egg. Finally, put the flour in the bowl and knead a smooth yeast dough. Let rise for about 1 hour, then its volume should have doubled.
  2. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C top / bottom heat.
  3. Divide the dough in a ratio of 2: 1 and portion the two parts into 3 parts each. Shape all parts into rolls and use them to make a small and a larger braid. Place the smaller braid on top of the larger one and brush everything with milk or egg. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and bake for 20-25 minutes.
