Ingredients

  • 500 g kohlrabi
  • 100 g double cream cheese with herbs
  • 100 ml milk
  • 50 g cheese, coarsely rated Gouda cheese
  • salt
  • Pepper, whiter from the mill
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds

Instructions

  1. Pluck the tender heart leaves off the kohlrabi, rinse, pat dry and chop. Peel and quarter the kohlrabi and cut into very fine slices. Mix the cream cheese with the milk until creamy and fold in the kohlrabi leaves. Place the kohlrabi in two layers like a roof tile in a small, ovenproof dish, seasoning well with salt and pepper. Cover each layer with herbal cream. Roast the sunflower seeds in a pan without fat and sprinkle over the kohlrabi. Bake everything in the oven at 200 degrees (gas: level 3) on the middle rack for 20 minutes. Scatter grated Gouda cheese on top and bake the gratin for another 15-25 minutes - until the cheese has melted golden yellow.
  2. In addition: baguette or hash browns.
