Ingredients

  • 300 g tofu, (preferably from the Asian store)
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped or pressed
  • 1 spring onion (s), cut into rings
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon honey, or sugar
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Wrap the tofu in 2 layers of kitchen paper so that the liquid is soaked up a little. Then cut into slices and also place on kitchen paper again. Fry the tofu slices in a pan with 1-2 tablespoons of oil until golden and drain on kitchen paper.
  2. For the sauce, mix the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, chilli, garlic and spring onions together in a bowl.
  3. Normally you put the tofu on a plate and drizzle the sauce over it, but you also add the tofu slices directly to the sauce and mix well. This way the sauce can soak up the tofu.
  4. Serve on freshly cooked rice and sprinkle with properly roasted sesame seeds.
