Ingredients

  • 400 g potatoes, floury boilin
  • 1 can corned beef
  • 1 onion (s)
  • some bay leaves
  • butter or margarine
  • 1 cup water
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes and cook them with water and salt until cooked.
  2. In the meantime, dice the onions and sauté them in the hot fat. Add the corned beef, mash it and mix it with the onions, sauté further. Add a little water to make a smooth pulp. Add some bay leaves, season with salt and pepper and simmer for about 5 - 10 minutes.
  3. Drain the water from the boiled potatoes that have been cooked in the meantime. Mash the potatoes with the potato masher and add the corned beef mash. First remove the bay leaves. Mix everything together and serve in portions on the plates.
  4. Side dishes: A fried egg and chopped beetroot are served on top (a must!). If you like, you can also have roll pugs or pickles with it.
