Lavash Pie with Potatoes, Cottage Cheese and Cheese (in a Pan)
by Editorial Staff
The original “lazy pie” of lavash with potatoes, cottage cheese, and feta cheese is cooked in a pan and turns out to be incredibly tasty and satisfying. This cake looks a bit like puff pastry cakes. Try to cook!
Servings: 6
Ingredients
Thin lavash – 1-2 pcs. (220 g)
Potatoes – 300 g
Granular curd – 180 g
Cheese (I have feta) – 100 g
Eggs – 4 pcs.
Milk – 100 ml
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper – to taste
Fresh parsley – 10-15 g
Vegetable oil (for frying) – 30 ml (2 tablespoons)
Directions
We prepare all the necessary products. If desired, instead of feta, you can use feta cheese or regular hard cheese.
We wash the potatoes, fill them with water, and put them on heating. Cook the potatoes until tender (about 20-30 minutes after boiling). Then we drain the water and leave the potatoes to cool.
Cut 4 circles out of pita bread (according to the dia of the pan).
Peel the cooled potatoes and cut them into cubes.
Break eggs into a bowl and pour in the milk.
Then add crumbled feta, granular cottage cheese, salt and black pepper to the eggs with milk.
Mix well with a whisk.
Finely chop the parsley.
Add potatoes and parsley to the egg-curd mixture.
We mix.
Heat 1 tablespoon in a frying pan. a spoonful of vegetable oil. Reduce the heat to a minimum and put one sheet of pita bread on the bottom of the pan.
Put 1/3 of a mixture of eggs, cottage cheese, and potatoes on pita bread.
Cover everything on top with the second pita bread.
Put some of the fillings on the pita bread again.
Cover the filling with the third pita bread, on which we again spread the remaining filling. We cover with the fourth, last, lavash. Lightly press the last pita bread with your hand and cover the pan with a lid.
Cooking lazy pita bread with potatoes, cottage cheese, and cheese over low heat for about 20 minutes. As soon as all the layers of the cake are set, grease it with the remaining vegetable oil.
Cover the cake with a plate.
Using a plate, turn the cake over to the other side and put it back in the pan with the fried side up.
Cover the pan with a lid again and prepare a lavash pie with potatoes, cottage cheese, and cheese on low heat for another 10-15 minutes. You can check the readiness of the cake with a toothpick.
Then put the pie on a plate and let it cool slightly.
Serve lazy lavash pie with potatoes, cottage cheese, and cheese to the table. Such a simple pie, cooked in a pan, is equally good both hot and cold.
Bon Appetit!
