Lavash Roll with Minced Meat and Vegetables (in the Oven)

Recipes for dishes with thin lavash always help out when there is no time or desire to mess with the dough. Lavash roll with minced meat, bell pepper, tomato, and onion, in a filling of eggs, sour cream, and mayonnaise, tastes like Italian lasagna. But I spent three times less time on its preparation.

Ingredients

  • Thin lavash – 1-2 pcs.
  • Minced meat – 350 g
  • Bulgarian red pepper – 150 g (1 pcs.)
  • Tomato – 150 g (1 pcs.)
  • Bulb onions – 100 g (1 pcs.)
  • Hard cheese – 100 g
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon + a pinch
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp + for greasing the mold

To fill:

  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Mayonnaise – 1 tbsp
  • Sour cream – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Prepare all the ingredients you need. Do not take the lavash out of the package in advance, it can dry out and become inelastic. You can take any minced meat, I used pork. Peel the onions.
  2. Cut the onion into small cubes and fry in vegetable oil until transparent.
  3. Add the minced pork to the onion skillet. Fry the minced meat, stirring and breaking the lumps with a wooden spatula, until it turns gray, for 7-8 minutes. In the end, add 0.5 teaspoons of salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Cut the tomato into small cubes. Peel the bell peppers and cut them into small pieces. Turn on the oven to heat up to 200 degrees.
  5. Expand a sheet of pita bread on a flat surface. I have a piece of small pita bread, so I used two sheets (overlapping). Put the slightly cooled minced meat with onions on the pita bread, level, stepping back from the edge 5-7 cm.
  6. Top with chopped bell peppers. Put the chopped tomatoes on top of the peppers, lightly salt. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Sprinkle the third cheese over the tomatoes.
  7. Fold the edges of the pita bread towards the center and wrap the pita bread in a roll. Place the roll in a greased mold.
  8. Prepare the fill.
  9. Combine eggs, sour cream, and mayonnaise in a deep bowl. Add salt and ground pepper. Mix well.
  10. Pour the filling into the mold, gently spreading it over the entire surface of the pita bread.
  11. Place the lavash roll in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  12. Remove the mold and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the roll. Place the dish in the oven for another 10 minutes.
  13. Remove the form with the finished roll from the oven and cool slightly.
  14. Transfer the pita roll with minced meat and vegetables to a platter and serve. The roll turned out to be very tasty, thanks to the vegetables, the minced meat is tender and juicy. The chilled roll keeps its shape well. This delicious dish is not difficult to prepare. Try it!
