Lazy Dumplings with Cottage Cheese and Beets

Ingredients

  • Beets – 100 g
  • Cottage cheese – 250 g
  • Wheat flour – 100 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon

Directions

  1. Wash the beets, transfer to a saucepan, add water, put on maximum heat and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat to low and cook the beets for about 40-60 minutes, until soft. Pour the finished beets with cold water and cool.
  2. Transfer cottage cheese to a deep bowl.
  3. Add the egg.
  4. Add sugar.
  5. Peel the cooled beets, grate on a fine grater and add to a bowl.
  6. Add flour.
  7. Mix thoroughly until smooth. Curd dough for lazy dumplings will turn out to be uniform in color and mold well.
  8. Form small sausages about 1-2 cm thick from the curd dough. Cut the sausages crosswise into small pieces.
  9. Pour about 2 liters of water into a saucepan, set to maximum heat, and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat to medium, dip the dumplings in water, and stir. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, until the dumplings float.
