Lazy Stuffed Cabbage Rolls with Lentils (in the Oven)

Prepare original lazy stuffed cabbage rolls, in which lentils are added instead of the usual rice. The stuffed cabbage rolls with lentils are baked in the oven in tomato sauce and are soft, juicy and very tasty.

Ingredients

• Minced meat – 300 g
• Green lentils – 75 g
• White cabbage – 150 g
• Bulb onions – 100 g (1 pc.)
• Carrots – 80 g (1 pc.)
• Egg (large) – 1 pc.
• Tomato paste – 50 g (2 tablespoons)
• Salt – 0.5 teaspoon (to taste)
• Vegetable oil – 1.5 tbsp
• Parsley (for serving) – 1-2 sprigs

Directions

1. We prepare all the necessary ingredients. You will also need 400 ml of water for cooking (2 glasses of 200 ml).
   Minced meat can be used any, I have chicken fillet.
   To make green lentils softer in cabbage rolls, the grains can be pre-soaked in water for 3-12 hours.
   We turn on the oven, let it heat up to 180 degrees.

   

2. We wash the lentils well.
3. Peel the onions, rinse and cut into small cubes.
4. Peel the carrots, rinse and rub on a coarse grater.
5. Preheat a frying pan with 1 tablespoon. a spoonful of vegetable oil. Fry the onions and carrots for about 4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
6. Chop the cabbage finely.
7. Combine cooled vegetables with minced meat.
8. Add cabbage to minced meat with onions and carrots.
9. Lentils there too.
10. Add the egg and salt.

    

11. Mix the minced meat thoroughly until smooth.
12. With wet hands we form oval cabbage rolls.
13. Grease the form with the remaining vegetable oil and lay out the cabbage rolls. We put the form in a preheated oven for 10 minutes, so that the stuffed cabbage rolls slightly brown and grabbed.
14. Cooking tomato sauce for stuffed cabbage. To do this, we dilute tomato paste in water.
15. We take out the form from the oven, fill the cabbage rolls with gravy and send the form back to the oven.

    

16. Cooking lazy cabbage rolls at 180 degrees for 50 minutes. Reduce the temperature in the oven to 165-170 degrees 20 minutes before cooking.
17. Lazy stuffed cabbage rolls with lentils are ready.
18. Sprinkle herbs on the dish if desired.
