Lean Bulgur Pilaf with Mushrooms

Bulgur pilaf with mushrooms is a simple and hearty dish that can be prepared in Lent. It turns out such lean pilaf with mushrooms is very fragrant, crumbly and tasty!

Ingredients

  • Bulgur – 200 g
  • Champignons – 150 g
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Vegetable oil – 50 g
  • Spices for pilaf – 1 tablespoon.
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Let’s start cooking bulgur pilaf with mushrooms:
    Cut the onion into small cubes.
  2. Cut the carrots into strips.
  3. Cut the mushrooms into thin slices.
  4. Fry the onions and carrots in a heat-resistant form.
  5. Then add the pre-washed and dried bulgur and mix everything thoroughly.
  6. Add champignons, stirring constantly.
  7. Add hot water, twice the volume of bulgur, cover with a lid and leave the lean pilaf with mushrooms to simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and let it brew for another 30 minutes. Bulgur pilaf with champignons is ready!  Enjoy your meal!
