On the Internet, there are a large number of lentil curry recipes. This lentil dal curry recipe is a bit modernized but is generally an example of Indian cuisine.
Ingredients
Lentils – 1 glass
Onions, medium – 1 pc.
Large apple – 1 pc.
Lemon juice – to taste
Tomato paste (ketchup) – 1 tablespoon.
Curry – 1 tablespoon
Ground ginger – 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Broth or water – 2 glasses (take more if necessary)
Vegetable oil for frying
Directions
Pour a little vegetable oil into a saucepan with a thick bottom and fry half rings of onion with pepper, salt, ginger, curry, lemon juice, and tomato paste (ketchup). Minutes 2-3.
Add lentils and 2 cups of water and simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes.
Cut the apple into small pieces and send it to the lentils. Simmer the lentil curry until the lentils are completely soft, about another 20-30 minutes. If the water boils away, then you should add it.
After turning off the heat, let the lentil curry brew for another half hour so that the lentils will absorb the remaining liquid.
