Ingredients

  • g 1,000 flour
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 cube fresh yeast
  • 200 g suar
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 360 g butter
  • 5 egg (s)
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

  1. Put the flour in a bowl and make a well in the middle.
  2. Pour the milk into the hollow, crumble the yeast, add sugar and salt. Mix gently in the middle and let rest for 15 minutes.
  3. Then add the butter and eggs and knead the mixture with a little flour to form a dough.
  4. Cover the bowl and let the dough rest overnight. Alternatively, preheat the oven to 40 degrees and place the bowl in the oven for 1 hour so that the dough rises faster.
  5. Then roll out the dough on a floured work surface and divide into three long sausages.
  6. These three sausages will braid like a peasant`s braid. Mix the egg yolk with a dash of milk and brush the braid with it.
  7. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
  8. Let cool down and enjoy.
