  • 1 can tomato (s), cut into pieces
  • 1 bunch basil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • thyme
  • Chilli pepper (s) as required
  • Balsamic vinegar (alternatively some red wine)
  • olive oil
  • Parmesan
  • salt
  • pepper
  • sugar
  • oregano
  • parsley

Instructions

  1. There are many versions of Napoli sauce. Here is a lovingly made version of a unique treat:
  2. Peel the garlic, cut into slices and dice (don`t press!), Drizzle with a little salt. Chop the basil. Heat the olive oil together with the basil in a pan or saucepan, add the garlic and fry briefly (the garlic must not turn brown!). Deglaze immediately with the tomato pieces and stir.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, chilli pepper, thyme, parsley and plenty of oregano and season to taste. Add a whole, peeled clove of garlic (press it lightly beforehand).
  4. Let the sauce rest for about 30 minutes with the lid closed (the herbs must be steeped).
  5. Add a small dash of balsamic vinegar (alternatively: red wine) and add a little sugar to taste.
  6. Don`t forget to season parmesan.
  7. Then serve this sauce on firm spaghetti.
