Ingredients

  • g 1,000 potato (s), floury cookin
  • salt
  • 3 onion (s)
  • 3 cucumber (s), (pickles)
  • 150 g bacon, smoked, mixed
  • 0.25 liter ¼ buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel and quarter the potatoes and cook in salted water for about 20 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, dice the peeled onions, bacon and cucumber. Fry the bacon over low heat, add diced onions and sauté until translucent. Briefly sauté the cucumbers.
  3. Drain the potatoes, let them steam out, roughly mash them with a potato masher. Warm the buttermilk, melt the butter.
  4. Mix the bacon mixture, buttermilk and melted butter into the potatoes. Season savory with salt and pepper.
  5. Goes well with fish or as a simple main course with fried eggs and endive salad.
