  • Potatoes – 850 g (4 pcs.)
  • Green peas (frozen) – 350 g
  • Milk – 125 ml
  • Butter – 25 g
  • Water (for cooking) – 1.2 l
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Nutmeg (ground) – 1-2 pinches

  1. Prepare your ingredients.

  2. Peel the potatoes and cut into large pieces, cutting each tuber into 6-8 pieces.
  3. Place the potatoes in a saucepan. Pour in cold water, bring to a boil and cook for 18-20 minutes.
  4. Test the doneness by piercing a piece of potato with a fork. If the fork comes in easily and the piece falls apart, the potatoes are ready.
  5. Add the frozen green peas to the pot with the potatoes, bring the water to a boil again and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove 2 tablespoons from the pan, if desired. spoons of peas and set aside for later use to decorate the finished dish.
  6. Pour milk into a saucepan, bring milk to a near boil and turn off heat immediately.
  7. Drain, add butter to a saucepan and mash the potatoes with the peas until puree.
  8. Add hot milk, nutmeg, a little salt, and ground black pepper to the puree to taste.
  9. Mix everything thoroughly again.
  10. If desired, shape the purée using a shaping ring, garnish with peas and serve.
