- 4 fish fillet (s) (matjes)
- 5 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 apple (Boskop or similar)
- 3 pickled cucumber (s)
- Pepper, freshly ground

- If necessary, water the herring if it is too salty. Peel the apple.
- Cut the matjes, apple and the pickles into small pieces. Then add the mayonnaise and sour cream. Mix everything together and season with pepper.
- You can also eat jacket potatoes or fresh bread.
