Do you love cabbage rolls, but don’t have time to carefully wrap each one in a cabbage leaf? Then this simple and quick recipe for meat casserole with cabbage and rice is for you! The taste of the casserole cannot be distinguished from the taste of lazy cabbage rolls, I highly recommend trying it.

Ingredients
Minced chicken (or chicken fillet) – 500 g
White cabbage – 300 g
Raw rice – 150 g
Bulb onions – 1 pc.
Carrots – 1 pc.
Sour cream – 200 g
Fresh tomatoes – 3-4 pcs.
or tomato paste – 2 tbsp
Water – 250 ml
Olive oil – 2 tbsp + for greasing the mold
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper – to taste
Directions
Prepare the food needed to prepare the meat casserole. Prepare minced meat from chicken fillet, you can take prepared in advance.
Chop the cabbage finely or chop it in a blender.
Rinse the rice thoroughly with cold water until transparent. Boil until half cooked, 7-10 minutes.
Peel the onion, rinse, chop and fry in olive oil until transparent.
Mix the minced meat, cabbage, rice, onion in a bowl.
Season with salt and pepper all ingredients, mix well.
Put the prepared minced meat in a baking dish, greased with vegetable oil, smooth.
Grate the carrots on a coarse grater, put on the base for the casserole.
Grate fresh tomatoes on a coarse grater, removing the skin. You can use tomato paste.
In a separate container, mix sour cream, grated tomatoes and water until smooth. You can add a little salt to taste.
Pour the sauce over the casserole. Bake the minced meat with cabbage and rice in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
Serve warm or hot meat casserole with cabbage and rice.
