Meatballs in Sour Cream Sauce

Meatballs are often prepared in tomato sauce. But sour cream sauce for meatballs is also great, which will allow you to cook this dish in different ways.

Meatballs in Sour Cream Sauce Ingredients

  • Minced meat – 500 g
  • Eggs- 1 pc.
  • Bulb onions – 2 pcs.
  • Garlic- 4 cloves
  • Sourcream – 250 g
  • Breadcrumbs – 3 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil – 3 tbsp (how much will it take)
  • Salt- 1 teaspoon (to taste)
  • Pepper- 0.25 teaspoon (to taste)

Meatballs in Sour Cream Sauce Instructions

  1. Finely chop one of the onions and all 4 garlic cloves.
  2. In a bowl, combine the minced meat with the chopped onion, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Knead the mixture thoroughly for 2-3 minutes until well combined.
  3. Refrigerate the mixture for 20 minutes.
  4. With wet hands, form the mixture into meatballs roughly the size of a small tangerine.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the meatballs and fry the first side for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Turn the meatballs and fry the second side for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Using the remaining fat in the pan, add the second onion and fry over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  8. Pour in the sour cream and stir well.
  9. Fry the sauce for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through. Stir in the chopped garlic.
  10. Return the meatballs to the pan, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  11. Serve with buckwheat as a side dish.
