Meatballs in Tomato-Garlic Sauce Ingredients

For the meatballs:

  • Minced meat (pork or beef) – 500 g
  • Chicken eggs – 2-3 pcs.
  • White stale bread – 100 g
  • Milk – 100 g
  • Cheese – 100 g
  • Parsley to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

For the tomato-garlic sauce:

  • Garlic – 2-3 cloves
  • Bulb onions – 2 pcs.
  • Tomato paste – 2 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil – 4 tbsp
  • Water – 1 l
  • Salt to taste

  2. Wash greens and chop finely.
  3. Grate cheese on a coarse grater.
  4. Soak stale white bread in milk. Put minced meat, eggs, pressed bread, cheese, finely chopped parsley, salt and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Mix everything well.
  6. Use wet hands to form meatballs no larger than a walnut.

  7. Wash and peel the onions. Peel the garlic. Chop everything finely.
  8. Preheat a deep and wide frying pan, pour in vegetable oil. Put onion and garlic in hot oil.
  9. Fry, stirring occasionally, over low heat for about 5 minutes.
  10. Boil the kettle. Pour 1 liter of boiling water into a saucepan. Add salt and tomato paste. Mix well. Or you can use 1 liter of tomato juice.
  11. Pour the sauce over the fried onions and garlic. Let it boil. Once the sauce has boiled, place the meatballs in it.
