Ingredients

  • 1 red pepper (s), diced
  • 1 onion (s), diced
  • 100 g mushrooms
  • 250 g crème fraîche
  • 7 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 300 ml of cream
  • 100 ml Metaxa
  • 100 ml vegetable stock
  • 1 ½ teaspoon soy sauce
  • 5 teaspoon spice mix (gyros spice)
  • sugar

Instructions

  1. Fry the mushrooms in a pan. Then reduce the temperature, add the onion cubes and continue frying until the onion is translucent. Then add the diced bell pepper and tomato paste and let sizzle a little. Deglaze with the Metaxa. Add the crème Fraiche, cream, and vegetable stock and simmer for about 12-15 minutes until the pepper has reached the desired firmness. Season to taste with soy sauce, sugar, and gyros spice. Then, serve hot.

Recipe Notes

If the sauce tastes too intense, add a little more stock.
