Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 250 g mararine
  • 200 g suar
  • 250 g flour
  • 4 egg (s)
  • 0.5 ½ pack baking powder

For covering:

  • 2 packs custard powder (vanilla)
  • 0.75 liter ¾ milk
  • 120 g suar
  • 3 cups sour cream
  • 2 glasses morello cherries
  • 3 pack cake icing, red
  • Grease for the tin
  • possibly water for the cake topping

Instructions

  1. Put all of the above ingredients for the dough in a bowl and make a batter.
  2. Spread on a greased baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 200 ° C for about 10-15 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, cook a pudding for the topping of pudding powder, milk and sugar according to the instructions on the packet. Stir in the sour cream. Take the cake out of the oven and spread the pudding mixture on top. Bake for another 10-15 minutes at 200 ° C.
  4. Drain the morello cherries while collecting the juice. Spread the cherries on the cooled pudding-sour cream. Boil ¾ l cherry juice (fill up the missing amount with water) with the icing powder and distribute the icing on the finished cake.
  5. Note: Here in Ammerland there is usually a cold buffet at night at a party. But there are also many who want coffee or tea with a piece of cake at night. This cake is intended for them (hence the name). You can of course eat the cake at any other time of the day.
