Millet Porridge in Pots

For thick porridge:

  • Millet – 1 glass (1 part)
  • Milk – 2 cups (2 parts)
  • or water – 2 glasses (2 parts)
  • Salt – 1 pinch (to taste)
  • Sugar – 1-2 tbsp (to taste)
  • Butter – 30 g (to taste)
    For liquid porridge:
  • Millet – 1 glass (1 part)
  • Milk – 3 cups (3 parts) or water – 3 glasses (3 parts)
  • Salt – 1 pinch (to taste)
  • Sugar – 1-2 tbsp (to taste)
  • Butter – 30 g (to taste)

How to cook millet porridge in a pot:

Directions

  1. General rules for cooking in pots: New pots need to be washed well and filled with cold water for an hour before cooking for the first time. Let the pots of water stand for 15 minutes before each cooking. This will make the food juicier. When putting the pots for storage, it is recommended to put a piece of paper in each. Place the pots in a cold oven.
  2. Rinse the cereals well (you can pour boiling water for 5-10 minutes).
  3. We spread the porridge in a pot, add salt and sugar.
  4. Fill the porridge with milk.
    In relation to:
    * milk: cereal 2: 1 (you get a thick porridge)
    or * milk: cereal 3: 1 (the porridge will not be so thick).
  5. Put millet porridge in a pot in a cold oven. Turn on the oven, cook for 50-60 minutes, at a temperature of 180-190 degrees. Without top heating.
  6. About 10 minutes before the end of cooking, we throw pieces of butter into the millet porridge in pots. We put it in the oven for another 10 minutes.
  7. Millet porridge in pots is ready. Serve the porridge in a pot with a lump of butter.
