Ingredients

  • 100 g suar
  • 100 g butter
  • a bit salt
  • 0.5 ½ pack vanilla sugar
  • 1 small egg (s)
  • 180 g flour
  • 0.5 ½ pack baking powder
  • 400 ml milk
  • 4 small apples
  • 2 tablespoon applesauce without sugar
  • some cinnamon, possibly
  • 1 packet custard powder (vanilla flavor)
  • 100 g poppy seeds, round
  • 40 g suar
  • 0.5 ½ pack vanilla sugar
  • possibly lemon juice

Instructions

  1. For the kneading dough, knead sugar, butter, a little salt, 1/2 packet of vanilla sugar, flour, a small egg and 1/2 packet of baking powder. Grease a size 18 baking pan and spread 2/3 of the dough in the pan.
  2. Cook the pudding with the milk, approx. 40 g sugar and 1/2 packet of vanilla sugar according to the instructions on the packet. Finally add the poppy seeds and briefly bring to the boil again.
  3. Peel the apples and cut into small pieces. Drizzle with lemon juice, if available, to prevent them from browning as quickly. Mix the apple sauce with the apple pieces. Spread the apple mixture on the floor. Sprinkle with cinnamon if you like. Then pour the poppy seed pudding mixture on top. Finally, spread the remaining dough over the cake as a sprinkle.
  4. Bake the whole thing in a preheated oven at 180 ° C (convection) for about 40 minutes. Let the cake cool in the pan so that it can set.
