Ingredients

  • 125 g butter or mararine, soft
  • 150 grams sugar
  • 4 egg whites, beaten until stiff
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 250 g hazelnuts (or almonds), round
  • 125 g flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 bar chocolate (whole milk), chopped
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • Fat for the shape
  • Possibly cake icing as desired

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened butter or margarine with the sugar, salt and egg yolks to a light cream. Mix flour with baking powder and gradually stir in briefly and vigorously. Fold in the ground nuts and chopped chocolate. Add milk. Finally fold in the egg whites. Grease a box or wreath form and pour in the batter.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven at 175 ° C for about 50 - 70 minutes on the middle rack. Do a chopstick test!
  3. When the cake has cooled down, it can be covered with warmed cake icing as desired.
  4. Tip: The dough can also be baked in muffin cases. It is enough for approx. 18 pieces. The baking time here is only approx. 20 minutes.
