Muffins “Zebra” with Chocolate Glaze

A very successful recipe for muffins, the dough for which is prepared with kefir, with the addition of butter and cocoa powder. Sweet, rich, chocolate-coated Zebra muffins made of two-color dough (light and chocolate) are perfect for a cozy home-made tea party.

Servings: 12

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • Fat kefir – 200 ml
  • Butter – 100 g
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Cocoa powder – 2 tablespoon
  • Sugar – 150 g
  • Flour – 220 g (1.5 cups with a capacity of 250 ml)
  • Baking powder – 2 teaspoon
  • Vanillin – 1 pinch

For glaze:

  • Butter – 50 g
  • Milk – 3 tablespoon
  • Sugar – 3 tablespoon
  • Cocoa powder – 3 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients. While the dough is cooking, preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
  2. Grind butter with sugar, add vanillin. Add eggs and mix well. Add kefir, mix. Add flour, sifted with baking powder. Knead a homogeneous dough.
  3. Divide the dough into two equal portions. Add cocoa powder to one part of the dough. Stir cocoa powder into the dough.
  4. Put the dough into tins well greased with butter over a tablespoon, alternating between dark and light.
    Fill the molds two thirds full. Bake Zebra muffins for 25-30 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees.
  5. Prepare the icing: combine butter, milk, sugar, and cocoa powder. Bring to a boil, simmer for one minute. Cool the glaze.
  6. Cover the finished and cooled striped muffins with glaze.
