Ingredients

  • 300 grams flour
  • 300 g suar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 300 g butter, soft
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 1 lemon (s), organic, remove the zest it
  • 100 g cream
  • 100 g honey, more liquid
  • 300 g almond sticks
  • 100 g cranberries, dried, chopped

Instructions

  1. First, preheat the oven to 180 °.
  2. For the dough, knead the flour, 100 g sugar, vanilla sugar, 200 g butter, the egg and the lemon peel into a dough and roll out on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Prick the dough several times with a fork. Pre-bake on the middle rack for about 13 minutes. Set aside and let cool down a bit.
  3. For the topping, bring 100 g cream, 100 g honey, 200 g sugar, 100 g butter, almond sticks and the chopped cranberries in a saucepan while stirring. Let the topping cool down a bit and spread it over the pre-baked dough. Bake everything again for another 13 minutes in the oven and finish, then let it cool down a bit and remove the edges from the baking sheet.
  4. Remove the whole plate with the baking paper from the tray and cut into small diamonds with a sharp knife.
  5. The Florentine cookies are easy to make, go quickly, taste heavenly and are great as gifts.
  6. If you don`t like cranberries, you can also use other dried fruits.
