Ingredients

  • 375 g wheat flour, type 405
  • 125 g cornstarch
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 250 grams sugar
  • 250 g hazelnuts, round
  • 250 g butter or marariene
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 3 drops bitter almond flavor

Instructions

  1. Mix room-warm butter with the sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs and bitter almond flavor. Stir in the remaining ingredients (use the dough hook on the mixer).
  2. Shape the dough into several rolls with a diameter of approx. 4-5 cm, wrap in cling film and put in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  3. Then cut the rolls into approx. 1 cm thick slices and distribute them on the baking trays. Place in the oven at 180 ° C top / bottom heat (170 ° C convection) for approx. 10-12 minutes. Make sure to watch the first tray so that the thalers don`t get too dark. The baking time depends on the oven and the thickness of the slices.
  4. Allow to cool after baking and store in a sealed cookie jar. The cookies taste particularly good after a few days.
