Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 300 grams flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 130 g suar
  • 2 packs vanilla sugar
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 130 g butter
  • 2 tablespoon apricot jam for brushing the base

For covering:

  • 200 g butter
  • 200 g suar
  • 2 packs vanilla sugar
  • 4 tablespoon water
  • 400 g hazelnuts, round (if you like: 200 chopped and 200 round) or desiccated coconut

Instructions

  1. Sift and mix all dry ingredients of the dough. Add the egg and cold butter and knead quickly to form a smooth dough. Then roll it out on a baking sheet and brush with the apricot jam.
  2. For the topping, slowly heat the butter together with the sugar, vanilla sugar and water in a saucepan and melt it, then fold in the nuts or grated coconut. Bring to the boil briefly and let cool down a little. Distribute the mixture evenly on the dough.
  3. Bake in a hot oven at 180 ° C top / bottom heat for about 30 to 35 minutes.
  4. Tip: If you like, you can dip the corners in couverture after cooling.
