Oat Sticks with Cheese

by Editorial Staff

These cheese sticks are amazing. The best snack for a beer or a glass of wine, a quick snack at home or at a picnic, an addition to a cup of coffee or tea. Baked with different cheeses, the taste changes. I also added chili-pepper flakes to make the cheese sticks more savory. I can’t even count how many times I’ve baked these sticks. Fast, simple, always available ingredients.

Cook: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Oatmeal – 1 glass
  • Flour – 1/2 cup
  • Butter – 4 tablespoons l.
  • Dutch cheese – 50 g
  • Milk – 3-4 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for lubricating the mold

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine oatmeal, flour, salt and pepper.
  2. Add softened diced butter and milk. Add the grated cheese.
  3. Knead the dough with your hands, adding more milk if necessary.
  4. Knead the dough with your hands, adding more milk if necessary. On a floured surface, roll out
  5. the dough into a 4 mm rectangle.
  6. Cut the dough layer into strips 1 cm wide.
  7. Cover the baking sheet with parchment paper and grease with vegetable oil if necessary. Spread the sticks on a baking sheet and bake the sticks with cheese in an oven heated to 190 degrees for 10-12 minutes (until golden brown).
  8. My notes: – I have prepared these sticks with cheese many times, from regular and instant oatmeal.
The conclusion is this: if instant oatmeal – it turns out very tasty and without problems, if ordinary – it is worth adding another 2-3 tablespoons of milk and cooking them a little longer.
    – I always cook 3 norms, otherwise the sticks with cheese fly away instantly.
