Omelet Casserole “Matafan” with Sausage and Cheese
by Editorial Staff
Matafan is an old French dish. The word “matafan” is literally translated as “killing hunger”. A hearty pancake dough dish is cooked in the oven, it can be meat or sweet, depending on the additions to the baked pancake. I made matafan with sausage and cheese.
Cook: 45 mins
Servings: 2
Ingredients
Eggs – 2 pcs.
Milk – 250 ml
Wheat flour – 140 g
Boiled sausage – 100 g
Hard cheese – 40 g
Green onion – 4 feathers
Butter – 30 g
Salt to taste
Directions
Prepare all the food you need. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
Break eggs into a bowl, pour in milk.
Add salt, flour.
Mix well.
Add chopped onion to the pancake batter.
Cut the sausage into thin slices.
Fry in a heat-resistant skillet with 10 g butter until golden brown.
Remove the sausage from the pan. Melt the remaining butter in it.
Pour the pancake dough into the pan. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes so that the mass in the pan “grasps”.
Take out the pan with pancake, place the sausage.
Sprinkle with the grated cheese. Return to the oven for another 5-7 minutes.
Matafan with sausage and cheese is ready.
Enjoy your meal!
