Instructions

  1. The vegetable onions are cut into approx. 0.5 cm thick slices or rings, depending on the desired size. Put the onions in a bowl.
  2. Sugar and vinegar are mixed together and poured over the onions. Cover the whole thing and let it steep in the refrigerator overnight for at least 12 hours. The next day, pour off the liquid and stir in the mayo and season with salt and pepper.
  3. The quantities given can be varied. The only important thing is the 1 to 1 ratio of sugar and vinegar. All of the onions should be covered with the liquid. Stir in the mayo depending on the desired creaminess.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
