Ingredients
Chicken drumsticks – 3 pcs.
Bulgarian pepper – 2 pcs.
Bulb onions – 1 pc.
Red onion – 1 pc.
Green peas – 100 g
Vegetable oil – 30 ml
Tomato paste – 1 tbsp
Chicken broth – 1 glass
Saffron – 0.5 teaspoon
Round rice – 120 g
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper – to taste
Directions
Prepare the required ingredients for the chicken and pea paella. Rinse chicken drumsticks, peel off the yellow films at their ends. Peas for its preparation can be used both fresh and frozen, without first defrosting it
.Peel both onions, rinse, cut into small cubes.
Pour the saffron into a bowl and add 30 ml of warm water.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, pour onion slices into it and fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown
At this time, remove the seeds from the bell peppers, rinse in water and cut into medium cubes. Place in a skillet and sauté with the onion for another 2 minutes.
Then add the chicken drumsticks and tomato paste to the skillet. Cook for another 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add washed rice.
Pour in the saffron water.
Pour in the chicken stock, cover the skillet with a lid and simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes.
Place the green peas in the skillet. Simmer the dish for about 10 more minutes under the lid, not forgetting to salt and pepper.
Let the finished paella steep under the lid for another 5 minutes, but without heating.
Serve the dish directly in the skillet, and do not forget to also offer fresh herbs, garlic and some kind of sauce, such as sour cream.
