Ingredients

  • 1 cube yeast
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 150 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 500g flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 100 g butter, soft
  • 50 g syrup (Grafschafter caramel syrup)
  • 2 egg (s)
  • milk
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Stir yeast and sugar into the milk and let rise for about 10-15 minutes. Sift the flour into a bowl. Pour the yeast milk into the hollow in the middle. Add salt, vanilla sugar, butter, syrup and eggs. Process everything into a smooth dough. Cover and let rise to double the amount.
  2. Knead the yeast dough again and let it rest for another 10 minutes. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Shape the dough pieces into rolls and devour them into pretzels. Place pretzels on a baking tray lined with baking paper, brush with milk and bake in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for about 20-25 minutes. The time will depend on the size and thickness of the pretzels.
  3. Take out and let cool down completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
