Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon oil, (vegetable oil)
  • 1 onion (s), small, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 450 g minced meat, beef or lamb
  • 4 tomato (s), peeled and chopped
  • 2 chilli pepper (s), chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Black pepper
  • 2 ½ kg papaya, halved and pitted
  • 25 g cheese, rated

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in the pan, sauté the garlic and onions for 5 minutes, then add the mince and let it brown.
  2. Add tomatoes, chilli, salt and pepper, continue frying until the liquid has almost evaporated.
  3. Fill the meat mixture into papayas, place them in a baking dish. Fill up with so much boiling water that the papayas are about 2.5 cm high in the water. Then bake in the preheated oven at 180 ° C for 1 hour.
  4. Sprinkle with half of the cheese and bake for another 30 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese before serving.
  6. If you don`t like spicy food and prefer a mild flavor, you should only use 1/2 to 1 chilli pepper.
