Ingredients

  • 500 g wheat flour, type 550
  • 300 ml milk
  • 100 g butter
  • 1 cube yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • grains, for sprinkling, e.g. sesame, poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Melt butter, warm milk. Put the flour and salt in a bowl. Crumble the yeast over it, sprinkle with sugar and add lukewarm milk and butter, do not mix. Let stand for 10-15 minutes until bubbles appear. Now work all the ingredients into a smooth dough and knead vigorously. Cover the dough and let rise for 15 minutes.
  2. Divide the dough into eight equal parts and shape into rolls. Place one roll in the middle of a baking sheet that has been greased or lined with baking paper, the others with a small space around it. Let rise in a warm place until the volume doubles.
  3. Brush the party wreath with whisked egg yolk and sprinkle as desired. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 15-20 minutes.
