Pasta with Squid in Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • Squid – 300 Grams
  • Onion – 1 Piece
  • Carrots – 1 Piece
  • Garlic – 1-2 Cloves
  • Tomato paste – 1.5-2 Art. spoons
  • Sugar – 1 Teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil – 30 Milliliters
  • Salt – To taste
  • Spices – To taste (Provencal herbs, ground pepper, paprika, basil, etc.)

Directions

  1. Prepare all ingredients.
  2. Pour boiling water over the squid carcasses, and then place in cold water.
  3. Peel the squid from the film, remove the entrails and chord, cut into strips or rings.
  4. Preheat a frying pan with oil, put chopped onions and carrots (slicing can be any, I like larger ones).
  5. Fry vegetables, stirring occasionally until soft.
  6. Add chopped squids and sauté everything together for 2 minutes.
  7. Then add the tomato paste, chopped garlic, salt, sugar and any spices you like. Cook for 2 more minutes.
  8. Squids in tomato sauce are ready.
  9. I have pasta as a side dish, but you can serve a dish with boiled rice or fresh vegetables.
