Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

Ingredients

  • Chicken fillet – 450 Grams
  • Vegetable oil – 1
  • Dried Basil – 1 Teaspoon
  • Dried oregano – 1/2 Teaspoon (oregano)
  • Dried Thyme – 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Salt – 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper – 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Penne – 300 Grams
  • Peeled boiled asparagus – 400 Grams
  • Butter – 30 grams
  • Flour – 2 Art. spoons
  • Garlic – 2 Cloves
  • Milk – 1 3/4 Cups (skimmed)
  • Cream – 1/4 cup (low fat)
  • Cream cheese – 120-140 Gram
  • Grated Parmesan cheese – 1/3 Cup
  • Fried bacon (optional) – 3-4 Slices

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix the spices – basil, oregano, thyme, salt and pepper. Cut the chicken breast into cubes. Sprinkle spices on the chicken. Fry in vegetable oil over medium-high heat until golden brown, 10-12 minutes, then put on a plate. Boil the penne according to the instructions, drain, keeping half a glass of water in which the pasta was cooked. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add flour, stirring constantly, cook for a minute. Then add the minced garlic. After half a minute, stir in milk and cream. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Add cheese, stir until smooth and add penne.
  2. Add cooked chicken, asparagus, chopped bacon (optional), stir well.
  3. If, in your opinion, the dish is dry, add half a glass of water in which the pasta was cooked. Stir, warm up. The dish is ready! When served with asparagus chicken penne, you can also serve grated Parmesan cheese!
