Phali is a famous Georgian appetizer, in which the base – often vegetables – is seasoned with a spicy nut sauce-pasta with hot peppers, garlic, and herbs. This recipe is used to prepare phali from green beans.
Ingredients
Green beans – 400 g
Walnuts – 70 g
Garlic – 4 cloves
Onion – 1 head
Fresh parsley – 0.5 bunch
Cilantro – 1/2 bunch
Hot red pepper, chili – 1/2 pod
Lemon – 1 pc.
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper – to taste
Directions
Prepare food for Georgian pkhali snack.
Dip the green beans in salted boiling water. Boil it for 5 minutes. Strain the beans through a colander and rinse with cold water.
Dry the nuts a little in a pan. Chop the greens. Finely chop the onions.
Clear chile of seeds. Chop with a knife.
Squeeze the juice out of the lemon, filtering it through a sieve.
In a blender bowl, add in small portions all the components of the recipe, except for the beans, gradually adding the remaining products after completely grinding the previous ones.
At the very end, dilute the nut butter with lemon juice, salt and pepper it.
Place the prepared sauce over the green beans.
Gently, trying not to deform the pods, mix the phali snack.
Put the green beans phali on a dish, garnish with nut halves, sprigs of greens. With any meat or just with shoti (Georgian bread) and a glass of red wine, the pkhali spicy snack will be indispensable.
