Ingredients

  • 2 kg beans (stick), preferably the broad, flat beans
  • 2 liters water
  • 500 ml vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • salt
  • some savory, fresh or dried

Instructions

  1. Clean the beans, wash them, thread them, leave them whole. Cook the beans in salted water until they are firm to the bite. Drain the water and put the beans in a bowl.
  2. Bring the water, vinegar, sugar, salt and savory to the boil until the sugar has dissolved. Pour this brew hot over the beans. Let cool and store in the refrigerator.
  3. The beans are served cold and are a delicious accompaniment to meat or grilled meat.
