Pickled Young Cabbage

Gorgeous young cabbage appetizer. Recipe from the “Cheap and Tasty” series.

Ingredients

  • Young cabbage – 3 kg
  • Dill – 2 bunches
  • Garlic – 1 head
  • Sugar – 1 glass
  • Salt – 3 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil – 1 glass
  • Essence – 1 tbsp
  • Bay leaf – 6 pcs.
  • Large carrots – 2 pcs.
  • Water – 1.5 l

Directions

  1. Cut the cabbage into 4 parts, cut the stump.
  2. Peel carrots, wash, grate on a coarse grater.
  3. Peel the garlic, chop finely.
  4. Wash the dill, chop finely.
  5. Place the cabbage in a large saucepan.
  6. Add carrots grated on a coarse grater, finely chopped garlic and finely chopped dill on top.
  7. Marinade: Boil 1.5 liters of water, add sugar, salt, bay leaf, oil and when it boils, remove from heat and pour in vinegar.
  8. Pour the cabbage right there.
  9. Put oppression on it and leave on the table for 3 days. Then remove the young pickled cabbage in the refrigerator.
  10. Young pickled cabbage is ready.
