Pita with Tuna

Filled pita – a recipe for fried “sandwiches” with canned tuna, tomatoes, and mayonnaise sauce with lemon juice and dill.

Ingredients

  • Pita (round unleavened bread) small – 4 pcs.
  • Canned tuna in oil (mash with a fork) – 1 can
  • Tomato (cut into circles) – 1 pc.
  • Dill greens (finely chop) – 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • Leaf lettuce (red) – 2 large leaves
  • Mayonnaise – 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Olive oil – for frying

How to make stuffed pita:

Directions

  1. Cut the pitas in half.
  2. Add lemon juice to mayonnaise.
  3. Pour in the dill and mix.
  4. Spread the sauce on one half of each pita.
  5. Put a piece of lettuce and a circle of tomato on top.
  6. Salt and pepper.
  7. Put the tuna mashed with a fork on top.
  8. Put some more sauce on top.
  9. Cover each sandwich with the second pita halves.
  10. Heat oil in a frying pan. We spread the pitas. Press with a plate and fry.
  11. Then turn over and fry the pita with the filling on the other side.
