Ingredients

  • 1 kg flour
  • 1 cube yeast
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 600 ml water
  • 4 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • Mixed herbs (sage, oregano, thyme)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Sea salt, coarse
  • Olive oil, to be drizzled on

Instructions

  1. Put the flour in a bowl, make a well in the middle. Crumble the yeast in it, mix with sugar and a little lukewarm water (approx. 100 ml) and dust with flour, leave to rise for approx. 15 minutes.
  2. Add the oil, salt and gradually 1/2 liter of water, knead and let rise, covered, until the dough has doubled in volume. Knead it again and let it rise again (this course is not absolutely necessary, but it makes the rolls particularly loose).
  3. Divide the dough into equal parts, shape into balls, flatten a little and sprinkle with finely chopped herbs, garlic and sea salt. Drizzle with oil and let rise a little more.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 ° for about 25 minutes.
  5. The rolls are ideal with aioli as a starter or as a snack with wine or beer. They`re also easy to freeze.
