Ingredients

  • 300 ml milk, minus L.
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoon, leveled sugar
  • 6 slices toast, (sandwich toast)
  • 3 egg whites
  • 150 g almond (s), round
  • Clarified butter, for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix the milk with the sugar and egg yolk. Soak the sandwich toast slices in this egg milk.
  2. The egg white is lightly laced with a fork. Then the toast slices are first turned in the egg white and then breaded with the almonds.
  3. Now bake one after the other in hot clarified butter until golden brown.
  4. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve immediately with applesauce or stewed plums!
  5. Caution: The large sandwich slices break easily after soaking.
  6. If you prepare the dish with children, you should divide the slices in the middle so that you don`t cry because something has broken!
