Ingredients

  • 200 g flour, pinch salt
  • 100 g butter
  • 20 g suar
  • 10 g yeast
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoon milk, cold
  • liter ⅛ milk
  • 120 g poppy seeds
  • 30 grams sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 20 g butter
  • Lemon peel
  • cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Crumble flour and butter, add yeast and add 3 tablespoon. Mix cold milk, mix both with the yolk (or 1 egg), sugar and salt to a dough and leave covered for 1/2 hour to rest.
  2. Boil the ground poppy seeds in the sweetened milk, mix with the remaining ingredients and allow to cool. Cut the thinly rolled out dough into rectangles approx. 710 cm, place the filling on top, roll up and bend at the ends. Place the Beugel on a baking tray and spread it with yolk, let it dry and rise again for 15 minutes and bake it brown at approx. 180 degrees.
