Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 180 g flour
  • 120 g butter, soft
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 4 tablespoon sugar

For covering:

  • 1 liter milk
  • 2 packs custard powder
  • 4 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 packs poppy seeds, (50 g each)
  • 1 cup quark, (500 g)

Also:

  • 4 egg (s)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 100 g suar
  • 1 squirt lemon juice

Instructions

  1. For the base, mix well the flour, baking powder, a pinch of salt and sugar. Mix in the soft butter and egg with the dough hook and knead well. Put the batter in the refrigerator.
  2. For the topping, cook 1 liter of pudding according to the instructions (the 4 tablespoons of sugar belong to the pudding) and mix with the 2 packets of poppy seed bakery and the quark to form a homogeneous mixture.
  3. Now the dough can be out of the refrigerator and you can spread the dough on a baking sheet with the help of some flour. Spread the poppy seed mixture on top.
  4. Separate 4 eggs for the top and beat the egg white until stiff. Add the 4 egg yolks, sour cream, sugar and a dash of lemon. Carefully fold in and stir well. Season with sugar or lemon and fold onto the poppy seed mixture.
  5. Place in the preheated oven for approx. 40 minutes and bake at 175 - 180 ° with convection.
  6. If you only want the cake in a springform pan, just cut everything in half.
