Potato Casserole with Mackerel and Cheese

Potatoes and fish, and even under a fragrant cheese crust – the perfect combination, it’s incredibly tasty. Making a potato casserole with mackerel and cheese will take very little of your time, but the result will be loved by the whole family.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes – 1 kg
  • Mackerel – 700-800 g
  • Hard cheese – 150 g
  • Mayonnaise – 100 g
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Vegetable oil – for lubricating the mold

Directions

  1. We prepare products for potato casserole with mackerel and cheese. We put a pot of water (1.5 l) on heating. Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices. Put the potatoes in boiling water and cook for 5 minutes. We put the potatoes in a colander.
  2. Cut off the head and tail of the mackerel. We clean the fish from entrails and bones, rinse and cut into small pieces. Three cheese on a coarse grater.
  3. We turn on the oven and heat up to 190 degrees. Grease the baking dish with vegetable oil. Put half of the potatoes into the prepared form in an even layer. Salt and pepper.
  4. Grease a layer of potatoes with mayonnaise. Put mackerel pieces on top of the potatoes. Salt, pepper, and grease with a thin layer of mayonnaise. Put the remaining potatoes on the fish. Salt, pepper, and grease with mayonnaise again.
  5. Sprinkle the potatoes with fish with a layer of grated cheese. We bake potatoes with mackerel and cheese in the oven on the lower level at 190 degrees for 40 minutes.
  6. Let the mackerel potato casserole cool slightly and serve with fresh vegetables.
